Tel Aviv, Israel – April 4, 2017 – Aqua Security today announced the expansion of its executive team with the addition of Upesh Patel as vice president of Business Development and David Segev as vice president of International Sales.  As container adoption rates continue to spike, the container security market is experiencing unprecedented momentum. David and Upesh’s efforts will help Aqua harness that momentum to accelerate customer acquisition. Patel and Segev join Aqua as part of its global expansion strategy: the company grew its headcount by 48% over the course of Q1 2017 and opened an office in Boston.

“Aqua is at the right place at the right time with the right technology, and with the addition of Upesh and David – and the people we are hiring globally – we are bringing the right people on board,” said Dror Davidoff, CEO, Aqua Security.  “It’s a good time for Aqua – morale is high and the entire company is energized.  We are excited to have David and Upesh on board and look forward to reaping the benefits of their contributions.”

A seasoned technology executive with more than 25 years of experience, Upesh Patel will forge and lead Aqua Security’s partnerships with strategic technology, consulting and services companies worldwide.  Prior to joining Aqua Security, Upesh was Vice President of Business & Corporate Development at CrowdStrike where he launched CrowdStrike’s Elevate Partner Program – an ecosystem of technology, go-to-market and services companies. Upesh has established a track record of successfully driving new business and partnerships with many startups including Perspecsys, Trusteer and Guardium resulting in high-value mergers with Blue Coat Systems, IBM and RSA Security.  He was also one of the original pioneers of the OPSEC program at Check Point Software.

“I see a tremendous opportunity for customers as they develop their hybrid cloud strategy to leverage Containers and to finally ‘bake’ security into their DevOps process,” said Upesh Patel, Vice President of Business Development for Aqua. “With one foot in the security world and the other in DevOps, Aqua truly reflects the future of cyber security, and I am delighted to be a part of such an innovative, visionary company.”

David Segev has held senior sales and business development positions at several companies, including NICE, McAfee and Cellebrite, all resulting in a significant growth in sales. Most recently, David was Senior Vice President of Sales for EMEA, Forensics for Cellebrite, a company specializing in mobile device forensics.

“Containers change the way organizations develop and deploy applications, and the upside for our customers is transformational,” said David Segev, vice president of International Sales, Aqua Security. “I’m delighted to lead Aqua’s international sales organization and look forward to contributing to our success.”
