Student Software Engineer - Cybersecurity

About The Position

Aqua Security is looking for a motivated Computer Science or Software Engineering student in their final year to join our team and contribute to the development of cybersecurity tools and capabilities.

In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers and security researchers, gaining hands-on experience with Linux systems, security automation, and real-world cybersecurity challenges. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys coding, exploring how systems work, solving technical problems, and learning new technologies in a collaborative environment.

What You'll Do

Develop Python tools and Bash scripts to support security research and development.
Work in Linux environments to investigate system behavior, analyze data, and troubleshoot technical issues.
Build and test prototypes, automate workflows, and contribute to the development of security capabilities.
Collaborate with engineers and security researchers to turn ideas into practical technical solutions.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a B.Sc. in Computer Science or Software Engineering, in the final year of study.
Hands-on experience with Linux, including command-line tools and basic system administration.
Ability to write, read, and debug Bash scripts.
Good Python programming skills, demonstrated through coursework, personal projects, or work experience.
Strong problem-solving skills, technical curiosity, and a practical approach to tackling challenges.
Highly motivated, eager to learn, and able to take initiative while working both independently and collaboratively.

Nice to Have

Background in cybersecurity through coursework, personal projects, CTFs, or professional experience.
Experience working with AI tools or developing AI-based applications, including LLMs and AI-assisted automation.
Familiarity with containers and container technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes.
