Container security startup Aqua Security secured $62 million in a Series C funding round, bringing its total amount raise to more than $100 million. The round was led by Insight Partners and contributed to by existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners, Microsoft’s Venture Fund M12, TLV Partners, and Shlomo Kramer.
The fresh capital puts Aqua Security’s total raised north of $100 million, following a $25 million series B in 2017 and $9 million series A in 2016.

The market for serverless computing security tools is a relatively new one, but there are already multiple vendors in the space. There is some overlap with container security vendors (see eSecurity Planet‘s list of top container security vendors), since serverless technologies typically involve the use of short-lived stateless containers.
“There are always going to be vulnerabilities,” explained Rani Osnat, vice president of product marketing at Aqua Security, at the recent KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2018 event in Seattle. “The fact that one was found was to be expected.
