Buildkit Build-time Container Teardown Arbitrary Delete is a critical vulnerability affecting BuildKit, a toolkit used for converting source code to build artifacts. A malicious BuildKit frontend or Dockerfile using RUN –mount could exploit this vulnerability to remove a file outside the container, from the host system. The issue has been fixed in version 0.12.5 of BuildKit. To remediate the vulnerability, users are advised to avoid using BuildKit frontends from untrusted sources or building untrusted Dockerfiles containing the RUN –mount feature.
